A Taste of the Emerging World: Learning Series with R’Jericho Vincent

A three part learning series on the topic of Shabbat through an Ivri lens

Rest is an act of revolution.

For thousands of years, Shabbat has been a weekly rebellion against a world that never stops. Join us for a three-part in-person journey through the mystical teachings and practices of Shabbat, learning how they can help us reshape the world.

These classes will be intimate, personal, and deep, hosted in the warmth of a community member’s Williamsburg home and taught by Rav Jericho. Whether you’ve never celebrated Shabbat or already maintain a weekly practice, you’ll discover new perspectives, hidden Kabbalistic teachings, and the opportunity to explore profound ancestral wisdom on the radical practice of rest. Between sessions, there will be additional opportunities to gather with your classmates, share your own insights, and deepen connections.

Session 1: Sacred Space Versus Sacred Time (Wednesday, October 21st 7:00pm-9:30pm) We’ll develop a foundation of Ivri mystical perspectives around the practice of Shabbat, how to open the portal between holy space and time, and explore the deeper meanings of the ritual of candle lighting.

Session 2: Mayain Olam Haba–A Taste of the Emerging World (Thursday, November 5th 7:00pm-9:30pm) How can we stay grounded in an era as challenging as this? We’ll learn how to draw on the principle of Moshiachzeit/liberatory consciousness and discover how the rituals of Kiddush and Challah can deepen our grounding.

Session 3: Shabbat as a Love Story (Thursday, November 19th 7:00pm-9:30pm) In this session we’ll encounter one of the core themes of Shabbat, sacred pleasure. We’ll also explore the love incantations of Shabbat and the powerful rituals of Havdala.

Sessions will take place in-person at a private residence in Williamsburg. Exact location will be sent after registration.
